Family Night Cake
Bake in an angel food / bundt pan at 350°F for ~60 min.
Cake Ingredients
1 1/4 C. Sugar
3/4 C. Butter
4 Eggs + 1 yolk
2 tsp Vanilla
Cake Ingredients – Dry (mix together)
3 C. Flour
1 tsp + 1/8 tsp Baking Powder
3/4 tsp Baking Soda
Cake Ingredients – Wet (mix together)
1/2 C. Sour Cream
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 tsp Almond Extract
Filling Ingredients – (mix together)
3/4 C. Chopped Nuts (toasted)
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
3 tsp Almond Extract
1/2 C. Brown Sugar
Steps
Cream butter and sugar for 5–7 min. Add eggs one at a time.
Mix dry and wet ingredients separately, then add them to the mixture alternating between dry and wet.
Grease angel food / bundt pan well (ideally with shortening).
Layer: 1/3 the batter, then 1/3 the filling, then 1/3 the batter, then 1/3 the filling, then remaining batter, then remaining filling on top.
Bake at 350°F for ~60 min.
